Punctuality & Absence
The school day begins at 8.45 a.m. The school gates open at 8.30 a.m. It is extremely important to establish a routine which ensures the children settle into a secure and happy classroom environment. Part of this includes being present for the start of our day together at 8.45 a.m.
If, for any reason, you are late in the morning, please bring your child into school via the school office so that they may be marked in the register. The school gate is locked at 8.45 a.m. and children arriving after this must report to the office. Parents should be aware that continued lateness may result in the Education Welfare Officer being involved. If your child has a school dinner and you know you are going to arrive at school late, please telephone us in advance so that the kitchen can be made aware that he or she needs to be catered for.
Please advise your child’s teacher of dental, medical or hospital appointments by letter, in advance.
