Admission information for prospective pupils joining our school

In Year Admissions
If you are a parent wishing to apply for a place for your child at our school, please complete the Move to a different school - Kent County Council form. You will need to fill in a separate form for each child.
If we are unable to offer a place your child’s name will be added to our waiting list. If you contact the school office you will be able to obtain information on where your child is on the waiting list. You have the right to appeal against the refusal of a place.

Admissions September 2027
Children born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023 will need to apply for a primary school place for admissions in September 2027.
School tours
We would like to invite you and your child into Sandgate Primary on one of the dates below. These visits will provide you with the opportunity to get a feel for the school, and ask any questions which you might have: Tuesday 3rd November 2026 at 1.30pm, Wednesday 4th November 2026 at 9.15am, Thursday 5th November 2026 at 1.30pm or Friday 6th November 2026 at 9.15am. Primary Applications
Primary school applications open on Friday 6th November 2026. We strongly recommend that you apply online at:
Paper forms (RCAFs) will be available to download from the K.C.C. website or available from the School Office. Applications must be made by Friday 15th January 2027.
If you apply online you will receive an email from K.C.C. Admissions on Friday 16th April 2027 after 4pm to tell you which school you have been offered. K.C.C. Admissions cannot guarantee the exact time you will receive your email, this depends on your email service provider. You can also log in after 5pm on 16th April 2027 to view.
Admissions for Pre-School Age Children
If your child is not old enough to start school yet (born after 31st August 2023), you may ‘register an interest’ at this school by filling in this Future Admissions Form and returning it to the school office, you can email it to enquiries@sandgate.kent.sch.uk.
‘Registering an interest’ at the school does not give your child priority for a place just because their name has been down longer than any other child.
When your child is old enough, the school will get in touch with you so that you can submit an admissions form for that year. The K.C.C. Admissions form that you will need to fill in is the Common Application Form (RCAF). This will be available to fill in online at www.kent.gov.uk/ola or can be collected from any primary school by you at the appropriate time, which is generally at the end of the Autumn Term before your child is due to commence the following Autumn.
